Museum of London

k-int are currently working with the Museum of London to implement a new, RDF based, Collections Information Integration Module (CIIM) as part of the Museum's Collections Online Delivery service.

The CIIM integrates metadata from a variety of sources within the Museum, allowing contextual information to be enhanced and data sets created to support on-line activities such as virtual exhibitions.

The CIIM architecture is based on an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) which provides a loosely coupled mechanism for data handling, storage, editing and indexing of records.  The storage component utilises an RDF triple store to enable flexibility in representation and modelling of new artefacts and relationship types, and also to enable Museum data to be made available in future as linked data via a SPARQL endpoint.

The RDF based storage mechanism will be available as an optional component in future generations of Open Data Aggregator.
